Marketing Your Business Website With Social Media   Cost: $150

The world of social media can be daunting and complex. Learn how to attract new customers and engage with existing ones through social media.  In this course we look at how you can enhance your business marketing by using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+ and other platforms.  Design social media memes and promotions with Canva.  We also look at boosting your Facebook audience reach.

By the end of this course you will know which platforms are best for your business and how to use them to promote your business.

Just starting with your iPad   Cost: $45

Jump into the iPad revolution! This course is aimed at the beginner iPad user with very little experience.  Learn the most useful apps found on your iPad including Mail, Safari and Camera.  Send and receive emails with confidence and browse the internet with your iPad.  Enjoy some of the most exciting, free iPad features including FaceTime video calls and sending iMessages to fellow iPad users.  Examine your iPad’s settings to put you back in control of your ring tone, wallpaper and password.  Create an Apple ID and Account, and shop the iTunes store for free music, books and apps.  Manage your new books, music and apps in iBooks, Music and the App store.
*Please note that in order to create an Apple account and download music, books and apps, students must be willing to purchase either an iTunes voucher or a pre-paid credit card. Minimum iTunes voucher spend is $20.* It is essential that you bring your own iPad to each class.

This course follows on from Just Starting With Your iPad.  In this course we will be looking more in-depth into the world of the iPad.  Some of the topics we will be exploring are types of apps and downloading them, using the camera, making family picture slideshows and easy ways to make videos, sync music, share calendars and “to do” lists, movies and TV.  We will also look at community facilities that are available on the iPad, customise settings and much more, as well as address any questions or issues you may be having with your iPad.  It is essential that you bring your own iPad to each class.

Social Media Using Your iPad   Cost: $45

In this very informative course you will learn how to navigate the world of social media on your iPad. We hear how scary sites like Facebook and Twitter can be.  However, in this course we look at how you can stay in touch with family and friends, play online games, investigate your hobbies and interests, and stay up-to-date with current affairs, government organisations, celebrities and make your opinion count.
We will also provide an overview of your myGov account and what you may be required to do. All while keeping your privacy safe. Topics covered include: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Online Games and the myGov website.  It is essential that you bring your own iPad to each class.

This is a beginner’s course for those with little or no prior knowledge or experience. In this course you will learn to use the mouse and keyboard, as well as how to customise the Windows 10 Start Menu.
Find your way around popular Apps. Create, save and print documents using the free App “WordPad”.  You will also learn how to import and edit your photos using the Windows 10 Photo App, and an introduction to the internet and email.

Topics covered include: Advanced features of Microsoft Word such as styles, headers, Mail Merge, SmartArt, reviewing documents by adding comments and adding track changes and creating a table of contents.  Advanced features of PowerPoint such as animations, editing master slides and creating customised slideshows.  Continuing with Microsoft Excel and creating additional formulas, using conditional formatting and creating advanced spreadsheets.

Within the 20 hour course learners will complete five hours of e-learning that will involve research into blogging, journalism, screen play writing, amongst other literary platforms that lead to employment opportunities.

Whether you re 18 or 80, you can learn to draw!
In this weekly class we get back to the basics of drawing. Learn to draw simple shapes, then use light and shade to make them look 3-dimensional.  This relaxed class will allow you to work at your own pace.

Watercolour for Beginners    Cost: $160

If you ‘ve never used watercolours, or tried them then this is the class for you!
Watercolour is a fabulous medium for creating artwork. You will learn how to choose and mix colours, and create simple but effective works of art.  You can even make personalised greeting cards for your friends and family!  Every person will work at their own pace, with lots of practical assistance from the tutor.  Cost of materials is $10 for the term.

English Language & Literacy Classes
English as an Additional Language
(Beginners to Intermediate Levels). (ACFE funded).

Friendly and supportive English classes to develop communication skills for everyday life or the workplace. Classes include practice of reading, writing, speaking and listening.

There is an opportunity to focus on learning English through the introduction to basic computer skills such as navigating the internet and using Microsoft Word. Please telephone reception on 9776 1386 to make an appointment to see the tutor.

The cost for these courses is $50 per term (plus annual membership fee), or $50 for the first term of enrolment and then $30 per term for students who are eligible for the concession amount. (Please note: You must produce a current concession card upon enrolment to receive the concession amount).

If you are not a permanent Australian resident, the cost is $560 per year for one class per week, or $14 for each session you attend.

Connect with your community through our volunteer program. Chelsea Family History Group
Chelsea Family History Group is a monthly gathering that allows people researching their family history to get together to share the experience, seek ideas to overcome blockages and get excited about what they have discovered in an informal setting.  The Chelsea Family History Group meets on the third Saturday of each month, starting at 9:30am and finishing at around 12:00pm.  Group gatherings will feature guest speakers on a range of topics that cover many aspects of family history and genealogical research, as well as guides to help you on your journey, and provide access to computer facilities to peruse the web.
